We work hard to give riders the confidence and skills they need to excel in the show ring or just to enjoy riding. Our overall goal at Enniskerry Farm is to make riding and working with horses an enjoyable and relaxing experience for our customers.
At Enniskerry Farm, our motto is:
"We teach people to ride safely and correctly, One jump at a time!" To do this we provide our customers with a variety of services which help them improve their riding skills while offering them opportunities which are challenging and enjoyable. These services include:
- Huntseat riding instruction - Private and group lessons for all ages and abilities, provide riders with the balance and basics they need to ride safely. Private lessons can be either half hour or one hour lessons. Group lessons are 1 hour, with a maximum of four riders per lesson.
- Summer day camps for children - Teach children and teens of all abilities riding and horse health care. We usually offer a minimum of 5 camps per summer, as well as camps during February and April school vacations. Camps are limited to 12 riders per session, Mondays through Fridays.
- Training horses - Starting young horses under saddle, improving a horse's skills when a student is unable to, and teaching horses to jump.
- Horse and Pony shopping - Helping customers find and buy or lease the appropriate horse for their needs. Involves making phone calls, arrangements for trying horses, travel to other barns, and riding the horse first to make sure it is safe for the customer to try. Helping to determine the suitability of a horse for customers is one of the most important services we provide.
- Boarding horses - Offers daily care for customers' horses by improving and maintaining their health through proper nutrition and offering advice to help them provide the best care possible for their horses' needs.
- Coaching students at horse shows - Help students prepare their horses for classes and handle the difficulties that can arise at shows. Often involves a "mini" lesson before each class.
- Trailering horses - Transporting horses for customers. We only transport horses for students or boarders, allows them to attend shows or activities away from the barn. Most transportation is done within Vermont. Enniskerry farm is located at the heart of Chittenden County. Middle Road is a rural dirt roadway that is pleasant and pastoral.
