2008 Summer Camps

We are offering 7 riding camps this summer. All camps will run from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, and include riding, swimming, learning activities and games. The last day of camp will have games on horseback for parents to watch. All of our camps will be limited to 12 riders. Our camps will be as follows:

• June 16th – June 19th :  A four day camp open to children ages 7 to 9. This camp has been specifically designed with the younger rider in mind. Activities and games will focus on the most basic horsemanship skills, while teaching riders to be safe and confident around horses. • June 23rd to June 27th : Open to children ages 8 to 12 of all abilities. Activities and games will focus horse care and horsemanship skills, while emphasizing safety on the ground and in the saddle. The last day of camp will have games on horseback for parents to watch. • June 30th – July 3rd :  A four day camp for those riders planning to attend the 4-H State Horse show in Addison County. We will be focusing on riding for specific classes and getting horse and rider ready to show. Open to all levels, Beginners to Seniors. Riders will practice riding classes with riders at the same level. Price will be $240.00 for this session. Click here to download Camp Registration form
• July 21st  to July 25th: Open to Intermediate and Advanced riders, ages 10 & up. Riders should be comfortable cantering a course of jumps. We will be working to improve jumping skills, and activities will concentrate on skills needed to show over fences. On the Friday of this camp, horses and riders will be transported to Steeple Ridge Farm in Charlotte for warm-ups. Camp this day will run late, time to be announced. • July 28th  to August 1st:. Open to children ages 8 to 12 of all abilities. Activities and games will focus horse care and horsemanship skills, while emphasizing safety on the ground and in the saddle. The last day of camp will have games on horseback for parents to watch. • August 11th to August 15th: Open to children ages 8 to 12 of all abilities. Activities and games will focus horse care and horsemanship skills, while emphasizing safety on the ground and in the saddle. The last day of camp will have games on horseback for parents to watch. • August 18th to August 23rd : A six day camp open to beginner to advanced riders. Riders must be able to groom and tack up independently. This camp will run from 8:00 am to 7:00pm Focus will be on riding and more advanced horsemanship skills, while still emphasizing safety on the ground and in the saddle. The last day will be a show to demonstrate skills. Dinners will be included, and discounts are available with parental help during camp. Campers and parents are encouraged to attend meetings to plan this camp. Price will be based on final plans and discounts. Maximum price for this session will be $400.00.
